16 day Safari

Day 1

Arrival at kilimanjaro International Airport and be met by a guide from the Guides of Tanzania Safaris and be transferred to your lodge/hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2

After breakfast at the lodge ,drive towards Arusha national Park for game viewing . This park is situated 52 kms from the airport and 37kms from the city of Arusha. It’s very unique of its black and white colubus monkey, great views of the free standing and highest peak of Africa, the Kilimanjaro 5895mts,(asl)., and the second highest mountain in Tanzania the ragged Mt. Meru-4760mts (asl), the five Momella lakes giving you a breathtaking view and a good number of wildlife

namely,elephants,giraffes, zebras, buffalos etc.and not to forget big flocks of flamingoes. Lunch at Momella wildlife lodge and after lunch have another game drive until sunset.then back to the lodge for dinner and over night.

Day 3

Afterbreakfast at the lodge, get set for a walk towards the mount Meru-with an armed guide. Enjoy the views, water falls,trees and flowers, wild animals etc.Come back for lunch at the lodge and after drive to Lake Manyara national park for dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara hotel.

Day 4

At 6 am we will leave the hotel with a breakfast box for game viewing drive at Lake Manyara National Park. This park is famous of the tree climbing lions and other animals such as elephants, giraffes ,,hippos and a good number of birds. Great view of the Rift valleywall which extends120kms.to the North towards Lake Natron where is the main breeding grounds for flamingos. Explore the park until noon and drive back to the hotel for lunch. After lunch you will be at leisure. Enjoy swimming or rest by the pool side. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 5

After breakfast visit a school or have a walk in the village to meet and greet people. See where and how they live, what they eat, what they do day to day,and feel the real African life.After that drive to Karatu 25kms away from Lake Manyara for lunch at a lodge/hotel.After that drive to Ngorongoro conservation area for overnight stay at Ngorongoro Wildlife lodge. This lodge is perched on the rim of the worlds eighth wonder- the Ngorongoro Crater. All rooms at this lodge overlook the crater. By using the mounted binocular at the lodge , you will be able to sport animals wondering on the crater floor especially the most endangered black rhino.

Day 6

Take off early in the morning with breakfast box and descend into the crater. Explore the crater, enjoying all the big five and other animals until noon, then back to the lodge for lunch.After lunch, set for a nature walk on the rim until late evening, then back to lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7

After breakfast drive to Serengeti National Park, game viewing en route to arrive at Seronera Wildlife Lodge for lunch. After lunch game drive in the park until late evening then back to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Seronera lodge is situated at the heart of Serengeti and different from other lodges is always surrounded by wildlife.

Day 8

Full day at Serengeti. Explore the plains, hunt for the leopards as this is the best place to sport it. Depending upon the time of the year,see long queues of wildebeest migrations which is so unique and never found anywhere else in the world. Dinner and overnight at Seronera Wildlife lodge.

Day 9

After breakfast drive towards Ngorongoro game drive en route, visit Masai bomas to experience the typical life of this unique tribe living within the area. After the visit, drive to Ngorongoro farm House for lunch. After lunch, rest set off for a walk around coffee farm. Coffee roasting can be arranged for you if you like. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 10

Take off after breakfast and head to Tarangire National park, shopping en route to arrive at Tarangire Safari Lodge for lunch. After lunch game viewing drive at the park until sunset.Tarangire Safari Lodge is perched at the bank overlooking the Tarangire river.In the park you will be able to see big herds of elephants, baboons, frinch eared oryx, zebras, tree climbing pythons etc.dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 11

After breakfast drive towards Arusha, shopping en route, lunch at the Arusha Hotel, afternoon drive to Marangu for overnight and preparation of your mountain trek next day. You will start trekking the Kilimanjaro from the Marangu Gate. This route is known as Marangu route.

Day 12

Trekking day. If you like walk to the entrance from your lodge which is 5kms away,or be driven there. Your amountain guide will arrange porters to help you on the mountain. Trekking will start at 10 or 11 in the morning. The first hut known as Mandara will be reached after 3hours. This is at 2700mts and it is within the dense forest. Picnic, dinner and overnight at Mandara hut.

Day 13

Continue trekking towards Horombo hut at 3600mts. The trek will take about 5hrs all meals and overnight

Day 14

After breakfast go on climbing towards Kibo Hut at 4700mts, the trek will take about 6hrs..All meals and overnight at Kibo.

Day 15

Early morning trek to the summit and back down to Horombo Hut. All meals and overnight at Horombo.

Day 16

After breakfast walk down to Marangu Gate. Be met by your guide from Guides of Tanzania Safaris and transfer to your hotel for lunch and day room use. In the evening transfer to the Kililmanjaro Airport for departure flight back home.

Tourist Season:

Tourist low season in Tanzania is between 1 April and 31 May and the rest of the year is high season, with the pick in July and August.

The maxium number of persons in the safaris vehicle is 6 (six) with small packs.
